Debt-to-Income (DTI) Calculator

Back-end DTI here means total minimum monthly debt payments ÷ gross monthly income, expressed as a percent ((debt ÷ income) × 100). Front-end ratios (housing-only vs income) and which debts belong in the numerator differ by lender and loan program. How this calculation works

What each input means

  • Monthly gross income — Denominator for the ratio.
  • Monthly debt payments — Total recurring minimum payments you choose to include (credit cards, auto, housing, other installment debt, etc.). Which debts belong in the ratio depends on the lender or program.

Formula used

DTI (%) ≈ (monthly debt ÷ monthly gross income) × 100 as implemented—a generic back-end-style ratio.

Front-end vs back-end: Some lenders emphasize housing payment vs income (“front-end”) separately from all debts (“back-end”). This page uses one combined debts field.

Lenders use underwriting-specific definitions; this is not a credit decision.
